Understanding the Individual Behind Every Experience
Nancy approaches counselling with the understanding that no two people experience life's challenges in quite the same way.
Her work begins with listening, exploring the concerns that bring someone to counselling, and considering the experiences and circumstances that may influence their well-being.
She incorporates therapeutic approaches according to each client's needs, preferences, and clinical presentation. These may include:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): Exploring the connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT): Understanding emotional experiences and relationship patterns.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy: Recognizing existing strengths and identifying meaningful next steps.
Motivational Interviewing: Exploring personal values, motivation, and readiness for change.
Person-Centred Therapy: Supporting a respectful, empathetic, and collaborative therapeutic relationship.
Trauma-Informed Counselling: Considering the influence of past experiences while prioritizing choice, safety, and individual needs.
Nancy also draws from her training and experience in narrative approaches, mindfulness, psychoeducation, and other counselling interventions where clinically appropriate.
Her goal is to offer a thoughtful therapeutic experience where clients have opportunities to build understanding, explore possibilities, and make informed choices about their care.
