Counselling offers opportunities for reflection, self-exploration, and considering meaningful choices that align with personal circumstances and goals.
Eating Disorders & Emotional Well-Being
Rhiannon's professional background includes working as an Eating Disorder Clinician within a public mental health program, providing assessment and counselling to children, youth, and adults.
Her experience includes individual, group, and family-based care, as well as collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and community services.
She brings this clinical perspective to understanding the emotional, relational, and behavioural experiences that may accompany eating disorder concerns. The suitability of counselling at MICRO is considered individually, including whether additional medical or multidisciplinary care may be needed.
Children, Youth & Family Relationships
Rhiannon has extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, and families across different stages of development and changing family circumstances.
Her clinical background includes family counselling, developmentally informed approaches, and work with individuals experiencing emotional and behavioural concerns.
She appreciates the importance of understanding family relationships, individual needs, and the different experiences of children, parents, and caregivers.

Understanding Your Experiences. Exploring Your Possibilities.
Rhiannon approaches counselling with curiosity, compassion, and respect for each person's lived experiences.
She recognizes that emotional well-being can be influenced by many factors, including relationships, family experiences, personal identity, and the environments in which we live.
Rather than relying on a single therapeutic method, Rhiannon draws from her professional training and clinical experience to consider approaches that reflect each client's needs, preferences, developmental stage, and treatment goals.
Her training and experience include:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): Exploring relationships between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Considering personal values, psychological flexibility, and meaningful choices.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT): Exploring emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal skills.
Radically Open Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (RO-DBT): Understanding emotional expression, social connection, and patterns of overcontrol.
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT): A structured, developmentally informed approach to trauma-related concerns.
Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT): Exploring emotional experiences and family relationships.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): A structured therapeutic approach included in her professional training.
Narrative, Solution-Focused & Expressive Therapies: Exploring personal experiences, strengths, and different ways of understanding concerns.
Rhiannon also has training in Play Therapy and may incorporate developmentally appropriate interventions where clinically indicated.
The therapeutic approaches used are discussed collaboratively and selected according to individual suitability, informed consent, and professional scope.

BEYOND THE COUNSELLING SESSION
A Curiosity for Life, Family & the World Around Her
Outside her counselling practice, Rhiannon enjoys spending time with her family, embracing new experiences, and discovering the many perspectives that make life interesting.
As a parent, family holds a meaningful place in her life. She appreciates the everyday moments, unexpected lessons, and changing experiences that come with raising a child. Parenthood has offered her opportunities to reflect on connection, adaptability, and the many ways individuals and families experience the world differently.
Rhiannon also has a longstanding love of travel. Having explored different parts of the world, she enjoys discovering new places, experiencing different cultures, and learning about the traditions, beliefs, and everyday lives of others. For her, travelling is as much about the people she encounters and the perspectives she gains as it is about the destinations themselves.
Naturally curious, Rhiannon enjoys hearing people's stories and understanding what makes their experiences unique. She appreciates that there is always something new to discover, whether through a conversation, a different cultural perspective, or an unfamiliar place.
Looking ahead, she hopes to continue exploring the world, creating new memories with her family, and embracing the experiences that make life rich and meaningful.
